Municipal budget cultural institution "Ustyuzhensky Museum of Local Lore"

The Local History Museum in Ustyuzhna was opened in 1921. Since 1936, it has been located in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin (XVII century).
The modern exposition includes the history department, the art department and the exhibition hall. The history department introduces visitors to the history of the region of the XI-early XX centuries. The art department of the museum includes a hall of ancient Russian painting, oil painting of the XIX-early XX centuries. and an exhibition of the porcelain collection.
In the hall of ancient Russian painting there is a preserved quadrangle of the cathedral with a memorial iconostasis of the XVII century by the masters of the Moscow Armory Chamber. The oil painting of the department is represented by canvases of I. K. Aivazovsky, B. M. Kustodiev, K. Ya. Kryzhitsky, Yu. Yu. Clover, etc.
In one of the halls of the museum there is a permanent exhibition "Birds and animals of our region". Exhibitions of various subjects are held in the exhibition hall.
