Museum Center named after A.I. Solzhenitsyn

Museum Centre named after A.I. Solzhenitsyn is the largest exhibition space in Russia associated with the Nobel Prize winner.
After long years in the labour camp, the writer, the future Nobel Prize winner in literature, moved to live in the ancient Russian city of Ryazan with his ex-wife Natalya Reshetovskaya. They were married before the war, but then they were separated by fate to reunite again. In Ryazan, Alexander Solzhenitsyn will work as a physics and astronomy teacher at a secondary school and will write his story "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich", which will bring him worldwide fame. The Ryazan creative period of Solzhenitsyn's work will last until 1969.
In memory of the life and work of the outstanding writer, on August 14, 2019, as part of the Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, the Museum Center of A.I. Solzhenitsyn was opened. More than 50 exhibits, including archival documents and personal belongings, were donated to his fund by the writer's widow. Museum Center with a total area of 900 sq. m is located in the XIX century House of Saltykov-Shchedrin (Morozov) and includes four permanent exhibitions: "Line of Life", "Red Wheel", "Writers' Studies", "Study of Alexander Solzhenitsyn"; "Essays on Literary Life: 1950-1970s".
