For example, the "hall of nature" introduces the animal and plant world of the kamchatka territory. It tells about the main natural features of Kamchatka and the history of the study of its natural resources.
The second hall of the museum exposition covers ancient history based on the archaeological collection-from the first human settlements on the territory of the kamchatka territory 14 thousand years ago to the 18th century. in the same hall, the next section of the museum's permanent exhibition begins, revealing the material and spiritual culture of the indigenous inhabitants of kamchatka: the itelmen and koryaks, as well as the small peoples of the north: the aleuts and evens. In the history hall, visitors get acquainted with the discovery and annexation of Kamchatka to the Russian state, with the great geographical discoveries that had a huge impact on the development of the region, as well as with the history of the creation and development of the "Russian-American Campaign".
A separate section of the exhibition is dedicated to a bright page in the history of Petropavlovsk-kamchatsky: the defense of the city from the anglo-french squadron in 1854.
The museum has a unique geological and mineralogical collection, which presents various products of volcanic activity, rocks and paleontological objects.

History

The history of the museum goes back over a hundred years. In 1911, on the initiative of the governor of the Kamchatka region V.V. Perfiliev and the local intelligentsia, the foundation of the regional scientific and industrial museum was laid. The museum was housed in the building of the office of the governor of the Kamchatka region.

Its first exhibits were items donated by travelers and scientists who explored Kamchatka at the beginning of the 20th century. Later, after several moves, in 1982 the Kamchatka Regional Museum of Local Lore returned to the building of the former governor's office, where it is currently located.

The museum has a large museum collection, which includes more than 120 thousand unique museum items on the history of the region. The museum collection contains items on archeology, ethnography of the indigenous peoples of Kamchatka, unique books of the 17th-21st centuries, paintings and graphic works by Kamchatka artists, memorial collections and archival funds. KGBU "Kamchatka Regional United Museum" studies the nature, history of Kamchatka and the culture of the peoples living on its territory.
